A special venue

Brixton Windmill, 207 years old and a Grade II* listed building, is the only surviving working windmill in London. Today, the same millstones used in 1902 are still in use to grind their incredible wholewheat flour.

Its amazing restoration saw the addition of the Windmill Centre annex, which now hosts community activities and events, such as the Venetian kitchen.

This historic site and its annex are run by The Friends of Windmill Gardens, a local charity dedicated to the restoration, preservation, and enhancement of both the windmill and its surrounding gardens.

We have chosen this special venue and we hire the space for our classes because we believe in their work.

By attending a Venetian kitchen class, you are directly contributing to their efforts to:

  • preserve a historic landmark
help maintain the Grade II* listed windmill for future generations
  • support community education
aid in building a unique educational facility for schools and the local community
  • foster community events
support events that bring people together to celebrate this unique historic building and green space.

We and The Friends of Windmill Gardens are grateful for your support.
